Challenge
Our client faced several challenges relating to enterprise and solution architecture impacting technology investment decisions, responsiveness to business needs and above average technical debt.
An independent review was required to identify opportunities for improvement.
Approach
- Peru ran workshops with a wide variety of stakeholders across architecture, IT, business operations and legal technology teams
- Using our proprietary Architecture Maturity Assessment toolkit, Peru undertook an accelerated review of the architecture function, looking into how the architecture function operated and the work they delivered
- Our review recommended several timebound, prioritised next steps covering communication, usable and relevant artefacts, portfolio engagement and the revision of organisational structure (roles, responsibilities and skills).
Outcome
- Improvements to the governance framework and its operational efficiency and impact
- Resetting team's responsibilities, objectives and ways of working to demonstrate value of architecture.
- Identification of architectural and technical debt exposure reducing risk in the environment
- Move from informing to influencing business decisions and programme investment priorities.
